Swan Pot I

27 June 2012
Today I am starting a swan pot, I want it to be as big as my kiln will allow. Here are the initial sketches, I am hoping to get red in the mouth and around the bottom and a raw copper oxide wash on the body.

2 July 2012
I finished the making stage today...

A total of 4 hours and 45 minutes thus far.

I hope that in logging all the various stages of making my pots that people will come to realise how many hours go into each one. I also hope that one day the eventual owner of the pots will find this site and see the birth of their pot. From now on each pot will come with a little tag with the name of the pot and the web address to lead them here.
18th of July, Swan Pot I is glazed and ready for the kiln.... I originally thought i would glaze it red in the mouth and around the bottom, but I decided instead to use a green glaze I made a few months ago. I hope it works. It's up to the kiln gods now!

Sold in August 2012 at Southern Ceramics Group annual show in Chichester, before I took a picture of it fully finished. Have a nice life little pot.
